Andrew Foor is a senior at Northern Bedford County High School. As a tri-athlete, he is involved in football, basketball, and baseball and he starts in all three. He was always involved in sports, even at a young age.He said, “I’ve been playing sports since I was able to throw a ball. My brother was already in sports, so watching him brought me into the same sport interests.”
Of all sports, baseball is his favorite sport to watch and play, and he always holds high expectations of himself. As a team, he would like to win more games than lose and be over .500 and compete for a Sideling Hill title. Foor said, “Junior year was a major disappointment and I don’t want that happening to us again. We need to work hard.” Personally, he would like to have the best ERA on the team and hit over .400. “My goal is to go into playoffs at least and win a game. Weakness-wise, I believe would be the right fielder. Strength-wise I think would be out center fielder,” Foor stated.
As his high school career comes to an end, Andrew explains how quickly his sports career has gone. “Baseball goes by way too fast. All athletics went by way too fast,” he said.
Some advice he has for the underclassmen is, “Continue to work hard and listen to your coaches and be a stellar student.” Foor also said, “It is important to be a responsible and good leader on the field and in the classroom.”
While being a talented athlete, he is not looking to go anywhere collegiately for sports following his senior year. “As much as I would love to play a collegiate sport, school work and a sport would just be way too much,” Foor said. “I need my main focus to be on my school work to have a good job in my future.”
