Zach Pressel Takes Gold

After a very successful track career, Zachary Pressel exceeded his personal best at his last track meet ever. On Saturday, May 25th at Shippensburg’s Seth Grove Stadium, Pressel jumped an incredible 6 feet, 8 inches in the High Jump event at the PIAA State Track and Field Championships. He took first place over other area competitors such as Cambria Heights’ Shawn Lacue, who finished fourth by clearing 6-6, as well as bronze medalist Aondofa Anyam of Church Farm. Maria Caps a Successful Career

Senior Maria Snyder finished in 9th place with a time of 11:21:50 at the PIAA State Track and Field Championships on May 26th, capping a decorated track career. She competed in the Class AA 3200 meter race, running an even stronger time than her last meet, the District 5 championships. She will be continuing her track career at James Madison University next year. Maria is one of the finest athletes to ever compete for Northern Bedford, and we wish her the best in her athletic and academic career. Congratulations again!

Heroes Against Cancer Walk

There were reported sightings of superheroes flying around Shawnee State Park on Saturday, as a part of the Heroes Against Cancer 5K Run and Walk. The Hulk and Superman made special appearances for the kids and left riddles and trivia for everyone to enjoy. The heroes could be seen buzzing excitedly around the trail with capes flapping in the wind.
