Blazing Bonfire 2011

As this year’s Varsity football season was about to begin, we kicked off the annual Bonfire on August 30.  Many parents, alumni, teachers, staff, and other people of the community showed up at our Panther Community Stadium to watch this spectacular event.  After all of the spectators got to their seats and got comfy, the legendary Panther Tail was on its way.  The Black Panther Marching Band took the lead, while this year’s varsity football team followed along with the varsity, junior high and mini cheerleaders taking up the end….

September 11, 2001: A Day to Remember

            September 11, 2001 started off as an ordinary day, but turned out a nation-wide tragedy for America.  Four airplanes were taken over by terrorists and struck the Twin Towers, Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The day started normal, but around 8:46 AM there was a problem in the sky; Flight 11 from American Airlines had hit the North World Trade Center tower.  This plane was supposed to be enroute to Los Angeles California from leaving Boston, Massachusetts but didn’t arrive to its final destination.  At first America was stunned.  Tourists…

Current Issues Field Trip to Flight 93 Memorial

Near the end of October, Mr. Barton’s periods seven and eight Current Issues students braved the dreary weather and blistering cold to visit the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA. After a short bus trip, where students were treated to the care free melodies of Jake Fredrick’s ukulele, the current issues classes stepped into the cold and onto the site of the Flight 93 Memorial.
