Northern Bedford Student Section started with an active member of its school’s student body. Ian Sherlock began the student section because he wanted to get students more focused on the actual football game rather than running around causing problems. NBC loses home opener to Central

NBC lost their home opener to Central on Friday night 32-6.  They fought hard, but Central was victorious.  Northern played a great first half with plenty of get-up-and-go.  At the half, NBC trailed Central by only 7 points (13-6).  The second half lacked a bit of energy from Northern. NBC Football Opens Season Tonight

The Northern Bedford Panthers football team opens up their season tonight against the Central Dragons. Come out and support the Panthers, District 5 winners last year. “We are very prepared for tonight. If we execute our game plan and play our game, we’ll come out on top,” said assistant coach Ryan Cherry. Kickoff is at 7:00 PM. Madison Over and Sydney Lingenfelter proved to be only “half crazy” by running the sold out, 7th annual Hershey Half Marathon at Hershey Park on October 16 at 7:30 a.m to benefit Children’s Miracle Network of Penn State Hershey Hospital. Over 5,000 brave runners lined up at the starting line, around 7 a.m, to take part in running a 13.1-mile course that winds through Hersheypark, goes into the town of Hershey, and then ends on Hersheypark stadium. Girls Volleyball Team Starts With A Loss

The Northern Bedford girls volleyball team played hard at their first game on Thursday, September 6th at Williamsburg High School, but came out short losing 3 of the 4 games.   The starters of the game were senior Morgan Kichman (setter), senior Emma Eckenrode (middle),  junior Maddie Cherry (middle), senior Jessika Branter (outside), junior Kaylee Bowsers (outside), and  sophomore Cameron Pressel (right side). Girls Soccer Takes a Win

  Northern Bedford’s girls varsity soccer team took their first win against Johnstown Christian with a final score of 15-0 on Tuesday, September 6th. Peyton Leidy and Jostin Ebersole, juniors Jordan Helsely and Sadie McConnell, sophomore Madison Cottle, and freshman Lacey Fleck, all scored a goal.   Ever since school ended in June, the team has been working hard each day to get in shape for the season.

On October 13th, the Junior High girls took down Fannett Metal, beating them in both games to maintain their undefeated season. On Saturday October 17th, the Black Panthers Boys’ soccer team lost 3-1 to league rival Chestnut Ridge during a freezing home game.  During the opening minutes of the game, the Lions scored an easy goal against a Panther defense that was not ready.  The first goal seemed to wake the Panthers, up and the team quickly started to play better. Boys’ Soccer Stung by Hyndman Hornets in Close Game

Northern Bedford Boys’ soccer lost 2-0 against HOPE for Hyndman Charter School on Thursday evening.  Hyndman is a team that will easily make it into the District 5 playoffs.  The panthers had to play hard to compete with such a good team and keep a close score.  The boys showed an intensity and aggression on both offense and defense that has been missing for most of the season.
